May 2026's Releases & Events

Hello all you awesome people! We’re starting something new at Spanky’s. Each month, we’ll be putting together a handy calendar featuring our most notable releases so you can easily keep track of everything going on at the shop. This month is stacked with big trading card game releases and a handful of pretty sweet video games.

First up is the launch of a brand-new trading card game from Kayou, the My Little Pony Trading Card Game that is happening later today! We’ll be hosting a casual hangout for anyone who wants to rip packs, play, trade, or just talk cards. A week after that, we’ll be celebrating the release of a new Riftbound TCG set with space set up for open play as well.

On the 12th, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle makes its debut on the Nintendo Switch 2. This version is notably the only one that’s fully complete on the physical media. The Xbox and PlayStation releases last year used internet-required “key game discs,” so it’s nice to finally get a proper cartridge version.

The 15th brings the re-release of fan-favorite RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance with upgrades for the PlayStation 5. There’s also the hilarious indie hit Thank Goodness You're Here! getting a wide physical release. This edition is handled by Lost in Cult, who only produce fully on-disc/cartridge releases approved by Does It Play?.

On the 21st, we get a first-party Nintendo title for the Switch 2, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, a cute and charming platformer for the whole family, alongside a few other releases.

Then on the 22nd, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight arrives, reinventing the LEGO formula with combat inspired by the Batman: Arkham Asylum era.

Also on the 22nd is the next set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Chaos Rising. The set features more than 120 cards, with standout hits like Mega Greninja ex, Mega Dragalge ex, and Mega Floette ex SIR. Greninja will also be getting the gold card treatment.
