FFTCG Dives Deep With Dreamlike Oceans: A 15th Anniversary Celebration Set Arrives March 2026

The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game is heading back to the surface with a brand-new booster se and this one’s making waves. Sorry. Dreamlike Oceans, the next mainline FFTCG expansion, is scheduled to release on March 27, 2026 (tentative), and it’s more than just another set. This booster marks the 15th anniversary of the original “Chapter I” booster; the set that kicked off the Chapter series in Japan long before the Opus era began.
To celebrate the milestone, Dreamlike Oceans packs in new artwork, returning favorites, collector-focused gems, and expanded gameplay options for both veteran players and newcomers.
A Look Inside Dreamlike Oceans
The set features:
- 124 normal cards
-
164 premium cards, including
- Premium versions of all 124 normal cards
- 38 full-art cards
- 1 Special card
- 1 Crystal card
Immediately I gravitated towards the showcase of 34 brand-new illustrated cards spanning iconic FINAL FANTASY titles such as FFVII Advent Children, FFIV, and FFIX. Among them, the star of the set is the newest Special card: Yuna [28-111H], illustrated by Tetsuya Nomura and featuring his foil-stamped signature, continuing the premium tradition of past sets.

Limit Break Returns With More Flexibility
Like last year’s Journey of Discovery, this set expands on the Limit Break (LB) system. Several LB cards appear in multiple elements, giving players flexible deck-building options that extend far beyond dedicated LB strategies. Whether you’re a competitive player or a collector who loves seeing strategic variety, these cards are shaping up to be standouts.
Legacy Cards Make a Splash
Full-art Legacy cards are back, offering powerful reprints that are just as tournament legal as their original versions. Dreamlike Oceans includes three sought-after picks:
- Galuf [7-067L]
- Terra [23-011L]
- Bahamut (XVI) [24-110L]
These Legacy hits remain some of the most popular cards in the FFTCG’s history—so their return in premium form will be big news for collectors.
Wave of New Illustrated Art
This set boasts an impressive list of contributing artists, showcasing fresh illustrations from across the FINAL FANTASY series:
- Rubi Asami — FFIX / Original
- Mihoko Ishii — FFVII Advent Children
- Ryoma Ito — FF Tactics Advance / FF Tactics S
- Reo Obata — FFIX
- Yukihiro Kajimoto — FFIV

- Lisa Fujise — FFIV / Original
- Toshitaka Matsuda — Lightning Returns: FFXIII
- Fumio Minagawa — FFXI
